Your hair says a lot about your identity. Whether you have it short, long, purple or blonde, it’s your hair. No one should tell you what you can and can’t do to it. And that’s exactly what Gemma thought.
1. Gemma did not care about her hairdressers’ opinion.

2. People are shook.

5. But Gemma is not the only one who has been told ‘no.’
When I was 18 I asked my hairdresser to dye my hair red and she said it was impossible and that she didn’t want to cus it wouldn’t look good on me. She dyed my brown hair brown so I went home and dyed it red and popped up later just to show her it was “possible”.

7. Who says men can’t dye their hair?
When I was in like grade 6, one of my teachers made a comment about boys dying their hair being feminine, so my mom bleached my hair. Within a few weeks nearly every boy in class was blonde.

9. What’s up with all the hairdressers refusing?
I had a hairdresser straight up refuse to cut/dye my hair because it was waist length and its naturally red. So I went home, got my mum to cut it shoulder length and box-dyed it black

10. Loopholes.

11. Who needs a boyfriend, when you can have purple hair.
My ex refused to let me dye my hair at all so when I broke up with him, I dyed it bright purple 😋 pic.twitter.com/0vSoVAw2Bh

12. And even the eyebrows don’t remain untouched.
My parents wouldn’t let me get my nose pierced, so I shaved off my eyebrows in defiance.
