Losing your phone in an Uber basically means losing your phone forever. Especially when you don’t even know you lost it in an Uber. This happened to Shay. She lost her phone but didn’t know where of how it happened, so she took her loss. Until she books an Uber and her driver hands her something.
1. The story starts with Shay booking an Uber. She tweets about what happens next.
Still such nice people out here. He said he tried to tell Uber but they didn’t do anything about it. So he kept it in his car till I saw him again so he can hand it back. This has made my weekend 🤩

2. She decides to give some context to the story.
Context I don’t know him at all i can’t even remember getting into his car but the fact he kept my phone for me for 8 months and by chance saw me today and gave it to me. HOW IS THIS EVEN REAL?! I’m still shocked and had to thank him for being so kind.

3. She ends her story by wanting to thank him with a gift and a satisfied feeling because of people’s kindness.
I wanna give him a gift to thank him but I may be breaking Uber policies or something 😂I don’t know I just feel hella blessed rn. That phone was precious to me had so many memories on and I was gutted when it went. All I know is there are genuinely good people in this world ❤️

4. But then some people get suspicious after reading her story.
Dude picked you up just once and recognized you after 8months? You didn’t try or attempt calling your line when you noticed it went missing? After dropping you and noticed you forgot your phone, he couldn’t take it back to the place he dropped you?

This is ridiculous!
An uber driver kept your phone in his car for 8 months but couldn’t keep your phone charged & wait for your call??
He couldn’t report to uber so they locate u?
How did he even recognise you if he saw you once 8 months ago & must have had 1000’s of passengers— Űncleßob (@unclebobbybob) April 30, 2021
Its 99% more likely that u recognise your uber driver than for him to recognise you.
1: you see his profile on ur phone.
2: he’s in front driving & ur behind
3: ur 1 out of 100 riders that week for him. Whereas for you he can the only uber u take in a week.
Make it make sense na!— Űncleßob (@unclebobbybob) April 30, 2021
5. Because there were other options..
Couldn’t he keep it on/ try to charge it and hope you called after picking it up 8 months ago?

[finds phone]
“Hey Siri, who called this phone last? Okay, call them back”
[rings]
“Hi I have your friends phone and would like to return it to them. Can you let them know or give me their address so I can return their phone today rather than in 8 months, if ever? Thanks”

6. Whether the story is true or not, people come up with their own versions in the comments and it’s quite hilarious.
This reminds me when I lost my iPhone back in 2016 in South Korea. I was pretty sure it got stolen and has given up looking for it but then 4 months later someone knocked on my door and gave me a package. It was a book I ordered from amazon. I still hasn’t gotten my phone til now

The same happened to me 7 years ago with a taxify driver. Left my 10 years old cousin in his taxi that dropped me off in front of a hotel. I booked a ride last week and my taxify driver goes “i have something for you” and hands me my cousin.
